DTN COMMENTS: A few bids have been renewed at midday, but it is looking
like the bulk of business has been essentially completed. This week
Northern dressed deals have sported a full range of $400 to $415, it is
looking like it was mostly $410 to $415, $7 to $12 higher than last
week's weighted averages basis Nebraska. Southern live deals have had a
range of $260 to $265, mostly $260 to $262, $3 to $5 higher than the
prior week's weighted averages. With such wide ranges it is hard to tell
just where the weekly weighted averages will fall.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (choice 388.86 +1.41, select 390.62
+1.62) with light to moderate box movement (61.53 lds of choice cuts,
4.03 lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 10.38 lds of ground). Live
and feeder cattle contracts are sharply higher at this time.
